Gooromon Park offers
School holiday programs where the children really get “down
and dirty” caring completely for a horse for 4 days; from
organizing the feeds, bring the horse from the paddock, grooming,
saddling, riding twice daily and finishing their week with a
fun gymkhana and a party where each child is awarded a certificate
& a Gooromon Park ribbon.
We offer:
Four (4) day programs for Beginners,
Intermediate and Advanced riders with Gooromon Park horses or
with their own horse. Classes are organized to suit the level
of the participants. Each day consists of two riding sessions
and two theory sessions to suit the participants. Beginners
will have heaps of horsey fun and establish their riding, while
the intermediates will be challenged with jumping and riding
out and the advanced riders with dressage, show jumping and
some eventing in our paddocks
On the afternoon of the third day a trip is organized to
the Belconnen Cinema to take in a movie. This is a great opportunity
for the children to unwind in an relaxed environment with
their new found horsey friends.
This week is finishing with a fun gymkhana and a party where
each child is awarded a certificate and a Gooromon Park ribbon.
One (1) day programs: Absolute
Beginners 6 –16 yrs
Beginners Day is for children with no horse riding experience
and starts with a short talk on safety followed by a familiarizing
session with the horses, this helps newcomers to relax into
the environment and helps in understanding the horses.
The children have two riding lessons, the first lesson being
Vaulting, which gives the children an amazing amount of confidence
“look mum I’m kneeling” or “standing on
the horses back.” The second riding lesson is either
playing games on horse back or a trail ride. All riders receive
an award certificate and a Gooromon Park ribbon.
This is a great introduction to horses
and a FUN day.
One (1) day programs: beginner
1 & 2 riders
Two riding sessions & two theory sessions plus a great
day with the horses and having horsey fun.
One (1) day programs: Intermediate/Advanced
riders with/out their own horse.
Two riding sessions & two theory sessions plus a great
day with the horses doing dressage, jumping, riding out eventing
or games.
One (1) Day Programs: Advanced
riders with/out their own horse.Two riding sessions and two
theory sessions plus a great day with the horses doing dressage,
show jumping course, or riding the Gooromon Park Eventing
Circuit.
